Welcome to my technology page! I will occasionally review and explain different web resources that we use (or will use) in music class.
Glogster
Glogster is an on-line tool used to create multimedia posters. 6th graders had a chance to tinker with Glogster this year. They used it to publish their composer research projects. The educational version of glogster is similar to a blog in that students could comment on the glogs of their classmates.
Wordle
Wordle is a tool for making word clouds. You can copy and paste text and wordle will automatically calculate the frequency of words and make certain words bigger than others. So, if you are reading Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, the words Alexander and Australia and horrible are going to be much bigger than cat and jelly roll.
You can also put in your own text like I did for the choir. I simply listed each student's name one time for each year they have been in choir. It looked like this:
Anna Anna Austin Austin Austin Brooklyn Brooklyn Calen Calen Calen Gracie Gracie Jacob Kaden Katie Katie Katie Kyle Kyle Madilynn Mariah Melanie Montana Montana Seth Seth Seth Timaree Timaree Timaree
Click on "create" and voila! You have created a wordle.
How could you use wordle in your classes?
